Anthony Bass is a pitcher in Major League Baseball. Bass was born on November 1, 1987, in Dearborn, Michigan, United States, as of my knowledge cutoff in September 2021.
On April 12, 2011, he made his Major League Baseball (MLB) debut with the San Diego Padres. Bass has played for multiple MLB teams over his career.

Bass made his major league debut on June 13, 2011, tossing a five-inning start and earning his first major league victory.
Bass began 2012 throwing out of the Padres’ bullpen before being promoted to the starting rotation on April 12 when Dusty Moseley sustained a shoulder injury.
Bass made 14 starts for the team before being placed on the injured list in June due to shoulder inflammation.
On December 11, 2013, Bass was traded to the Houston Astros for a player to be named later or cash considerations, for the player to be named later or cash considerations.
Bass signed a minor-league contract with the Texas Rangers on December 11, 2014. Bass, who was mostly used as a reliever, divided his time between the Majors and AAA. He pitched 64 innings and had a 4.50 ERA in 33 games for the Rangers.

Following the 2015 season, the Rangers traded Leonys Martn and Bass to the Seattle Mariners in exchange for Tom Wilhelmsen, James Jones, and a future asset.
In February 2017, Bass agreed to a minor league contract with the Texas Rangers. Bass and the Chicago Cubs agreed to a minor league deal on December 20, 2017.
Bass and the Cincinnati Reds agreed to a minor league deal on December 30, 2018. The 25th of March 2019 saw his release. On March 28, 2019, Bass renewed his minor league contract.
Bass and the Seattle Mariners agreed to a major league deal on May 21, 2019. Bass was claimed off waivers by the Toronto Blue Jays from the Seattle Mariners on October 29, 2019.
Bass made his Blue Jays debut on July 24, 2020. Bass played in 26 games for the 2020 Toronto Blue Jays, recording a 2-3 record, a 3.51 ERA, and 21 strikeouts in 25.2 innings thrown.

Bass signed a two-year, $5MM contract with the Miami Marlins on January 22, 2021, which also had a team option for 2023. Bass was the pitcher for an incredibly rare walk-off pitch hit to lose a game against the New York Mets in April 2021.
For Toronto in 2023, Bass made 22 appearances, tossing 20.0 innings with 19 strikeouts and a 4.95 ERA. After Mitch White was activated from the disabled list on June 9, 2023, he was designated for assignment.
